President

Dr. Yamonte Cooper

Dr. Yamonte Cooper is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and the faculty coordinator of the El Camino College Career Center. He is an expert on issues of diversity and has had the opportunity to work with higher education programs and institutions in Botswana. Further, Dr. Cooper was honored with a prestigious Fulbright International Education Administrator Seminar Award in Germany. Currently, he is the president of the California Career Development Association (CCDA).

Markell Morris

Markell Morris is the CEO of Futures In Motion, Inc., providing online career counseling to professionals in career transition. She is a national certified counselor, teacher, trainer and program developer at El Camino College, Santa Monica College and the City of Pasadena. Markell has a Master's Degree in Counseling from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Dr. Lisa Raufman

Dr. Lisa Raufman is the Past President, CCDA and co-author of The Career Fitness Program Exercising Your Options.  She has spent over three decades working at Moorpark and El Camino Community College, as a counselor, instructor, coordinator of programs, and Dean of Counseling.


Treasurer/Finance Chair

Carmell Stoianov

Carmell Stoianov is currently a Career Services Advisor at the University of Southern California School of Social Work. She has a Master of Arts Degree in counseling from Loyola Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from National University.


Secretary/Historian

Esmeralda Martinez

Esmeralda Martinez is currently a Career Counselor at El Camino College and an Adjunct Counselor at Los Angeles Trade Technical College. She is also a Counseling Faculty at Los Angeles Valley College. Esmeralda has a has a Masters Degree in Counseling with a Specialization in Career Counseling from California State University Northridge (CSUN) , as well as a Bachelors Degree in Sociology.

Sherilyn Ashena

Sherilyn Ashena is a Career Counselor in the Career Center at California State University Northridge (CSUN). She was a Secretary for the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of CCDA. Sherilyn also worked as an Adjunct Counselor at Los Angeles Pierce College. She has a Masters Degree in Counseling with a Specialization in Career Counseling from CSUN, as well as a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy. 

Graduate Student Representative

Tina Oanh Hoang , Sacramento State

Tina Oanh Hoang is a First Year Experience Go-To Crew Resource Mentor and Social and Emotional Learning Mentor at Sacramento State's Multicultural and Community Research Lab. She is currently a graduate student in the Career Counseling Master's Program at Sacramento State University. Tina has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Sacramento State University.

Carrie McKnight is the Director of Career Services at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA. She is a Past-President of CCDA and has served on the Board for several years. Carrie has assisted with planning CCDA’s regional conferences and organizing local chapter events in the SF Bay Area.

Legislative/Public Policy Chair

Anne-Marie Beck

Anne-Marie Beck is a dedicated Career Counseling professional. She holds a M.S. in Career Counseling from CSUN. Anne-Marie’s diverse experience has included the following populations: LGBTQ, addiction recovery, juvenile justice, criminal justice, foster youth, and undocumented students. Anne-Marie currently fulfills the CCDA position of Legislative and Public Policy Chair.


Social Media

Nicole Fogelman

Nicole has an M.S. in counseling with a specialization in career counseling. She was on the board of the CCDA CSUN student chapter, a member of the spring 2016 conference planning committee, and is currently leading the social media subcommittee. Nicole’s graduate thesis project was entitled “Personal and Career Support for Transgender Women” and she is known for her passion for social justice.
