Panelist Bios

Karina V. Augustus, M.S. Ed.

Karina serves as the Career Specialist for UC Riverside’s College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences. She graduated from California State University, Long Beach, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Minor in Spanish. She later earned a Master of Science in Higher Education from California State University, Fullerton. She has worked in both academic and student affairs and has worked in a variety of public institutions. Most recently, she worked at CSU San Bernardino as an Academic Advisor for the College of Natural Sciences. She has 10+ years of experience advocating for and working with undocumented communities. Karina is committed to being a change agent in the field and continuing to create equitable opportunities for students who have historically been underserved and/or underrepresented.

Teresa Farley, MS

Teresa is an experienced educator and executive with over 25 years of leadership experience in higher education, nonprofit, and financial sectors. She holds a Master of Science in Career Counseling. She has spent the past six years as an adjunct faculty member, teaching in a variety of settings, including on-campus, online, and within the Prison Reentry Education Program (PREP). Teresa has a proven track record of supporting underserved and underrepresented students, as well as securing and managing external funding for curriculum development, special services, and research initiatives. Her expertise includes operations, human resources, conflict resolution, strategic planning, and budget management. She effectively collaborates with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, faculty, California Department of Corrections staff, and federal and state funders. Bilingual and biliterate in English and Spanish, Teresa is committed to fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments.

Riley Folds

Riley is the Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion (D & I) for Aeronautics at Lockheed Martin and brings over a decade of experience as a change agent in the field of D & I. With a certification in Workplace Diversity Management from Cornell University’s School of Industrial Relations, Riley has a proven ability to organize, implement, and evaluate impactful D & I initiatives. Riley is dedicated to understanding how factors such as socioeconomic background, race, culture, and sexual orientation influence career development and the workforce. Additionally, Riley is committed to supporting minority- and women-owned businesses.
